Rails for Girls Singapore
The founders of Rails Girls, Linda Liukas and Karri Saarinen, had wanted to demystify the world of web applications and encourage women to learn about software development. The inaugural event in Singapore was held on October 8, 2011 at SmartSpace, and I was happy to have been a small part of it! (Pictures from Rails Girls’ Facebook) Notice how I was the only non-Mac user there… We had already been told from the start that we shouldn’t be [...]

Yep, so there I was holding it in my hand the whole night hoping to be able to get to try it out. This is how it works: Basically, to use it [...]

Echelon 2011
Woke up early to drag myself to NUS University Cultural Centre… Registration in the morning was screwed – 9.45am and there was still a long queue of people trying to get their passes to enter the seminar room. As the event was planned to start at 9.15am, the events management team asked the queue to dissipate and proceed to the room so the event could start and instead come back again during the break. The [...]
